Easter Traditions in Russian Lands

пасхального кулича or Easter Bread is a popular treat during the Easter season in Orthodox countries.

In Ukraine and Belarus, бабка (babka) is what is normally referred to as Easter Bread and is more cylindrical in shape than Russian кулич.

The bread, the decor, and the message are all unapologetically Christian and very visible during the Easter season.

The Russian letters "X B" seen on much Easter decor are first letter of two words, Христос воскрес, meaning Christ is Risen.
